suspicious?
Sep 9, 2012 02:32 PM

I asked a question about my item earlier.

However now it has just sold.

I listed a remote control car and it sold today to a bulgarian registered buyer.

Before this person's bid I received a message from a different member who was also bulgarian registered. I stated that I didnt want to sell to interational buyers due to high postage costs. The member then sent me an address in Dagenham, Essex.

Then my item sold. The bidder had the same address.

I've just found this ebay disscusion about a scam.

What should I do?

Add .90p and send it recorded.

Providing the buyer added the UK address to their eBay account, then selected it as the delivery address before paying via eBay checkout, it will come up as the one you should ship to on the PayPal payment notification email you'll receive.

Providing you send the item out by trackable means (Recorded Delivery if uner £46 in value, Special Delivery if over that), you'll meet the criteria for any PayPal Seller Protection you're eligible for.

For future reference, if you want to block international bidders, you must set your Buyer Requirements to block bidders registered in countries you don't ship to.

Will I be covered against any INR claimes through Paypal/ebay if I choose signature on delivery?

Yes. If there's a valid tracking number showing delivery to the address PayPal give you, you're covered against an INR (and a chargeback too).

Thanks for your replies. Even though I've read things about this Empresa Mail service being "dodgy" I'll send my item with proof of delivery and I'll be covered.

Well, that'd certainly cover you against disputes and chargebacks.

However, if you're uncomfortable about this, telephone eBay Customer Support and let them know that there appear to problems shipping to Empressa. They may have it already flagged up.

I have sent items to Bulgaria via this method  O.K.

just allow extra time for delivery as shipper may only send to Bulgaria weekly or less often.
