If the item has arrived damaged the buyer is entitled to a full refund including P&P,

However, according to ebay rules you are not required to pay return postage costs althogh some sellers will do this,

item must be returned via a trackable method by the buyer.

the item doesn't need to be returned   why waste money returning broken goods

the buyer can return direct to royal mail free post if they want to see it

There would be no point in asking the buyer to return a broken item. if you have proof of damage from a photo, then the buyer is due a full refund.

He shouldn't be out of pocket for something that was not his fault.

Ask him to keep all pckaging and the broken item in case R.M. want to see it.
