Hi I just listed a phone for sale and it sold straight away. The buyer sent me an email looking for my paypal email address. I assume this is a scam as i previousely sold an item and buyer said that paypal would not release money until tracking number was provided. Is there any way of reporting these people to ebay/

The Paypal email is probably fake. Check your Paypal account.

You may get another email asking you to post to an uncle, brother, sister, young girl whose dying etc etc etc.

Invariably, this person lives somewhere in Africa.

It is a well known scam and new sellers with high value items (phones especially) are targetted

It isn't necessarily a scam but your buyer doesn't need your PayPal email address to pay - they can pay direct from checkout. We can't see who bought it so we don't know how suspicious the buyer may look!

By the way, I hate to mention it but your detailed seller ratings are all below the minimum of 4.7 that eBay regards as acceptable. Even selelrs with 100% positive feedback have faced selling restrictions becuase of poor DSRs, sometimes indefinitely. You need to do something about this very urgently or you may find that your selling days are soon over.

By the way, next time you have a non-paying buyer go through the unpaid item process and they won't be able to leave negative feedback (or of they have done it can be removed).

Tell the buyer to pay via eBay checkout, and the payment will then go to your PayPal address.

I smell a rat too.
