Can a buyer who has had a case opened against them close the case without paying?
Aug 20, 2012 09:46 AM

Hi!  I opened a non-payment case against a buyer who subsequently said they were on holiday and would pay in a weeks time.  As their suggested date for payment has arrived and they still haven't paid, I thought I could now close the case for non-payment but it has disappeared!  Has the buyer been able to close the case without payment?  I am now having to open a case again!   Also while I'm on here has anyone else noticed the massive increase in non-payment of items?  I now have at least one a week and it's beginning to make selling on E-bay very frustrating!  (sorry about the moan).

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you have run out of time.:(

Do this for every non payer:

Open an unpaid case after 4 days and close 4 days later. They will get a strike, you get your fees

back, and they are unable to leave you feedback:

http://res.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ResolutionCenter

Add them to your blocked bidders list here:

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin

Set your prefs to block bidders with 2 or more strikes here:

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences

NEVER send a non-payer a mutual cancelation request, as they can refuse it, and you lose your

fees, and they can leave you feedback.

As a seller, you can't leave negative feedback, or negative comments, so leave no feedback at all.

You have to complete the above before relisting, or offering a second chance, because if they pay

in the meantime, you could end up with 2 buyers, both able to leave you feedback, and only 1 item!

Should have said, you can't re-open a case once closed, don't give buyers extra time, they shouldn't have bid, and then gone on holiday.?:|

Hi again!  Following my question, I've just opened a non-payment case again for the same item and it says I can close the case up to 19th September.  I still don't understand why the opened case disappeared last time?  I'll ensure I close this time after the 4 days!
