I've seen an item that says postage is £1 by 1st class post but further down where she has written her description it says for collection only.(item is a travel cot and she's a new ebayer) If I bid and won the item is she obliged to post at that price?

Nice & Easy,
I submit to your greater knowledge.
OP,
You asked "If I bid and won the item is she obliged to post at that price?"
This indicates that you are/were intending to bid and wished to take advantage of the £1.00 postage.
Thank you *Roxanne, I feel very hurt by bournemouth0's tone in his reply, I was simply asking so I gave the right advise should I see it again. I would never take advantage of a new ebayer I would hate it myself, I was just trying to help.
No it doesn't bournemouth0, it was a simple enquiry - I just used myself as an example, I should have put - if someone bid. I hope you are not judging me by your own standards.
I hope your reply isn't for me cockneydevil, if you read carefully my responses you would see that I said I had already emailed the new seller to point out what could have been a costly mistake before I came on the board to ask a hypothetical question.
Hi - I recently had the same problem with an excercise bike - the form would not let me list the item even though I pressed the 'collection only' icon - so I just put minimum postage - £1 - and a note in the description to inform buyers about problem. Most people are intelligent enough to understand that there are sometimes Ebay form problems and I sold my item which was collected without any fuss. Surely anyone who suggests that the item should be sent for £1 is being rather narrow minded and mean!
it could have been worse she could have put in free postage by mistake like i did as 2nd choice instead of collect in person
and i had a buyer ( not even a new one either) take advantage even though i had clearly written postage cost in listing .. i lost 3-00 but could have been worse didnt notice till after i had sent item ..in a hurry to post i had only checked that buyer had paid sign on my listings
Could someone please help me. I sold a heavy item and meant to put collection only at bottom of description and forgot. Now the winning bidder is saying they have honored there side of the deal by paying for the item and she now wants it sending. I have apologized and offered either a postage fee or a refund which have both been refused. I am new to eBay and someone is capitalizing on my mistake. Is there anything I can do.
common sense should prevail the majority of ebayers are not traders and the option is always there to contact seller......so get a bargain have fun but keep it real
To remove eed to add postage costs:- in the domestic postage drop down box you need to choose no postage as well as ticking box for collection in person.
AND to lae4534 simply refund the cost to the buyer via paypal whether they want you to or not and apologise stating the item cannot be sold due to a mistake in the listing
