because they are uninformed  about how easy selling ovrseas it

they don't have a clue abiut how much money they are losing in bids

they think all parcels  going overseas are bought by scammers and go missing

ridiculous

if you have been asked go for it

you need a verified paypal account to add international postage of qo feedback but there is a way round it  in the mean time

see here

http://tinyurl.com/international-selling

next time add it when you list the item because many will pass you by and not ask

there are 3 international shipping rates  Europe and rest of the world zones  1 and 2 so its very easy to set up

go to

royalmail.com and select the price finder

if you have bids you can only allow somebody to bid here same if you cannot add international postage

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderPermitLogin

amend checkout if they win

check your excluded shipping list

http://cgi5.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ExcludeShippingList

check your buyer activity log you don’t want to allow nonpayers in

Yes,

Laziness,

Ignorance,

Fear,

It's just as easy to sell overseas, as it is to UK.

Meanwhile, if you want to add any buyers to your items, if they ask about posting overseas, which you don't at the moment, add their ID here, after agreeing any extra P&P with them:

Because to send an item overseas tracked is so expensive and I for one am not prepared to take the risk anymore..I've had 3 items sent overseas go missing..albeit out of quite a few.. but it's the seller that is out of pocket at the end of the day...and buyers usually don't want to pay the extra cost I find.

Although it is as easy to post an item overseas as it is to post an item in this country, sellers can be divided over this issue.

Some sellers have no qualms about it as the item is available to a wider audience and may achieve a higher price.

Other sellers refuse to post overseas. Postage costs are obviously higher so if there is a problem with the transaction and buyer wants to return the seller can lose out significantly on postage costs.

You need to weigh up the pros and cons for yourself and make your own mind up.

You have been unlucky to lose items overseas, but why should you think that happens any more than selling in the UK only?

You think it's expensive to post?  Yes it is, don't you think we know that? We live in the real world as well.?:|

We know that RM have put up their prices.:(

At least in Spain EVERY signed-for item IS signed for, no postie leaves it with a neighbour, or leaves the card wedged in the gate, or leaves a parcel outside.

The named person has to to the PO, not the wife, or the kids, with photo ID, and sign under a camera, every time. It's a far better system than the UK any day.

You think RM is expensive, weigh an A4 envelope with 6 A4 sheets of paper, and see what that comes to on the RM price finder, 1st class. We pay around 4€ for that.:(

Check my FB since August 2007, that's when we moved to Spain, everything has got here o.k. The system is slow, I admit, but it gets here, and that's the main thing.

Look at the people who won't sell overseas, they are nearly all fairly new on ebay, the sellers who have been around for nearly 10 years are mostly happy to sell, as they realise there's a huge market available.
